Doug Ikelheimer is a board certified adult psychiatrist with expertise in the management of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, chronic mental illness, and addictions.
Dr. Ikelheimer attended medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. After completion of his residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 2001 and later his Fellowship in Addictions, Dr Ikelheimer joined the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado and went on to become Medical Director of the Denver Health Psychiatric Emergency Service.
Dr Ikelheimer continues to offer high level mental health services by telepsychiatry in his private practice and in multiple settings for Insight Telepsychiatry, where he also serves as Associate Medical Director for Inpathy, the nation's leading telepsychiatry platform for private practice. Dr Ikelheimer has active medical licensure and practices in multiple states, including Colorado, Florida, Washington, Illinois, Virginia, New York, and New Jersey.
Dr. Ikelheimer is a published author and he has presented at multiple professional meetings on the use of telepsychiatry in the delivery of mental health services.
